Kerala Arthritis & Rheumatism society was founded in the year 2011 which is registered under the society act of 1860 (Reg No. A1139/2011) with the aim to spread awareness about disease and disability caused by Rheumatism. Members of the society include Dr. Padmanabha Shenoy D., President of the society, Dr. Prakash R., Secretary of the society and Dr. Divya D., Treasurer of the society. Ever since, the society conducts campaigns in an attempt to answer queries and sharing patient experiences. The Kerala Arthritis and Rheumatism Society envisions a happy and pain-free life for all. Instilling hope and confidence in patients goes a long way in responding to the treatment as well. The Kerala Arthritis and Rheumatism Society is committed to alleviate the suffering and the socio-economic impact of autoimmunity through initiating, fostering, and facilitating collaboration in the areas of education, public awareness, research, and patient services in an effective, ethical, and efficient manner.

As part of KARS commitment to advance medical research, it is believed these discoveries are key to extending the quality of healthy lives of individuals. The studies conducted by the research team of Dr. Shenoy's care Hospital has provided significant contributions and complementary insights to medical research. In addition to providing funds for research, free blood tests, medical camps financial aids to patients belonging to economically backward classes and printing information booklets on diseases are some of the social activities carried out by the society. Therefore, KARS mainly provides funding for research, patient care and awareness.
